						Artist Statement
		I am largely self-taught, having survived massive doses of regimented, studio art training during my childhood to blossom into an independent artist as an adult.  I recently moved from the wilds of Detroit to a farmstead out West where I am re-establishing my private sales studios. After discovering vibrant color while living briefly in Florida, I began painting mostly with bright watercolors and silkscreen inks.  This discovery of color pushed me to explore freer forms of canvas painting such as Abstract Expressionism, and to delve into creating whimsical and 'celebratory' decorative designs on paper; seeking a lightness which has eluded my work in the past.
